Mariner Safety Documents
Welcome to the Mariner Safety Public Document Portal! Here you can find safety related documents generated based on the MSRI close call/near miss and injury databases, also known as Nereus (the first sea God). MSRI documents are adorned with his symbol along with the saying “Always Be Safeâ€. The public documents are a subset of the documents from the Industry Partner Mariner Safety Document Portal.
The close call/near miss and injury reports have been analyzed and reviewed and put into a usable format for download and distribution among your organizations. As the data within Nereus is analyzed, additional supportive documentation will continue to be developed and added to the portal. Industry partners may use the documents within the portal to:
- Help direct safety auditing efforts
- Guide vessel design change efforts
- Identify additional shipboard hazards (space specific)
- Identify additional hazards related to crew activities
- Assist safety interventions and resource allocation,
- Input to safety (metrics) – benchmarking
- Augment existing Tool Box Talks and safety-related education for the crew
- Support continual improvement of shipboard safety and related safety management systems
Please see the categories below showing the different types of safety documents within the portal.
